Support to Communities: Fostering Opioid Recovery Through Workforce Development

The purpose of this DOL program is to address widespread substance and opioid misuse, addiction, and overdose, and to serve or retrain workers in significantly impacted communities. The goals of these grants are to: implement innovative approaches for addressing the workforce-related impact of the substance misuse epidemic; to engage employers as partners in the grant's program design and delivery; to provide training, employment services, screening, outpatient treatment and other supportive services to impacted individuals; and to deliver training and employment opportunities to encourage more individuals to enter professions that could address the crisis or relevant skills training that would help individuals enter career pathways and find and retain employment in in-demand occupations.
