Build your charter school’s financial, organizational, and leadership capacity

Resource Associates employs a team of the nation’s top charter school experts who have proven track records in founding, administering, and funding public charter schools. Our team understands the benefits and potential pitfalls of incorporating as a charter school as opposed to operating as a private school or other type of entity. Let our specialists guide you in whatever phase of the charter development or implementation you may be in. From the initial incorporation to preparing for state and grant audits, our team will be there to assist.

Since the onset of the charter school movement over twenty years ago, Resource Associates has offered a number of services that build the financial, organizational, and leadership capacity of charters all across the country and in Canada. If you are with a private education agency or an active charter school, you will want to strongly consider exploring Resource Associates’ services. These include, but are not limited to:

Feasibility Study

For a flat fee of $5,500, Resource Associates’ team of charter school specialists will conduct a feasibility study for your agency. Every state in the US (and in specific areas of Canada) has its own charter school laws and application process. In fact, a small number of states do not even acknowledge charter schools. For those states that do, each offers a different per pupil cost rate to charters and public schools. In addition to understanding what formula and other grant funding opportunities are available, these basic per pupil rates must be taken into consideration when making the decision to incorporate as a charter. Resource Associates will provide you with this and other information that will prepare your agency to take the next step. Information varies from state to state but our clients can expect to receive detailed and customized information on per pupil allowances, data on special grants and funding streams the potential charter can take advantage of including National School Lunch Program opportunities, and funding and charter application processes and materials.

Charter School Application

Applying to become a charter school can be an arduous process that could take over a year to complete. Depending on how far along you are in the process, you may need help with such activities as applying for state and federal nonprofit status, establishing a board of directors with bylaws and articles of incorporation, conducting and documenting board meetings and decisions, and applying to your state for charter school status. If one of the steps in the process is not completed to the government’s strict standards, delays of weeks and months are a guarantee.

Take the hassle and headache out of the time consuming process of applying to become a charter school. As you may already know, there are many advantages to securing this status. Not only would you be entitled to receive the per pupil dollars provided by your state, you may be able to secure various entitlement and formula funds based on the needs and demographics of the students you serve. The experts at Resource Associates will coordinate the charter school application process in such a way that it ensures your organization will not only become an official charter but also that it is tapping into all discretionary and formula funding available. Because every eligible state has a different process and every client is at a different phase in the application and incorporation process, a price for this service will be quoted to you after you provide a thorough overview of your vision and progress.

School Lunch Study Application

The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal initiative operating in public schools, nonprofit private schools, and residential child care institutions around the United States. To date, over 100,000 schools have enrolled in this program. National School Lunch provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children every day school is in session. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946. Today, an average of 31 million children are able to receive low and no cost meals – ensuring their health and nutrition while on campus.

If you would like consultation on the application process or need additional information on the benefits of this program (as well as summer food, afterschool snack, and milk allowance programs), Resource Associates has the answers. In addition to our free consultations, Resource Associates is able to assist with the required parent income surveying process and state level application process to ensure your students are able to tap into National School Lunch and other nutrition assistance programs needed by your students. Give us a call and let us assist you with facilitating what can be a paper-work intensive, resource-draining process. A price will be quoted based on the application requirements of your state.
