For a flat fee of $5,500, Resource Associates’ team of charter school specialists will conduct a feasibility study for your agency. Every state in the US (and in specific areas of Canada) has its own charter school laws and application process. In fact, a small number of states do not even acknowledge charter schools. For those states that do, each offers a different per pupil cost rate to charters and public schools. In addition to understanding what formula and other grant funding opportunities are available, these basic per pupil rates must be taken into consideration when making the decision to incorporate as a charter. Resource Associates will provide you with this and other information that will prepare your agency to take the next step. Information varies from state to state but our clients can expect to receive detailed and customized information on per pupil allowances, data on special grants and funding streams the potential charter can take advantage of including National School Lunch Program opportunities, and funding and charter application processes and materials.
Charter School Application
Applying to become a charter school can be an arduous process that could take over a year to complete. Depending on how far along you are in the process, you may need help with such activities as applying for state and federal nonprofit status, establishing a board of directors with bylaws and articles of incorporation, conducting and documenting board meetings and decisions, and applying to your state for charter school status. If one of the steps in the process is not completed to the government’s strict standards, delays of weeks and months are a guarantee.
Take the hassle and headache out of the time consuming process of applying to become a charter school. As you may already know, there are many advantages to securing this status. Not only would you be entitled to receive the per pupil dollars provided by your state, you may be able to secure various entitlement and formula funds based on the needs and demographics of the students you serve. The experts at Resource Associates will coordinate the charter school application process in such a way that it ensures your organization will not only become an official charter but also that it is tapping into all discretionary and formula funding available. Because every eligible state has a different process and every client is at a different phase in the application and incorporation process, a price for this service will be quoted to you after you provide a thorough overview of your vision and progress.
