GrantWriters is pleased to announce the award of three lifesaving grants for youth safety and violence prevention in tribal communities throughout the Northwest.
Funding from the US Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is credited for making such a paramount investment in these high-risk regions (all reporting a history of being overlooked when it comes to direct government grant support).
The $1.5 million dollar COPS grants are meant to institutionalize proven safety resources, policy, and training for the local government agencies and nonprofits reporting high levels of violence in and around the chosen grant communities.
“COPS Grants provide innovative safety equipment and programs to ensure our most vulnerable citizens are supported and able to thrive in the violence free environments all Americans deserve to live,” says the acting COPS Grant Director.
